From November until May, the waters of Hawaii are visited by over 1000 humpback whales. These warm, shallow waters are the only place in the USA where humpback whales reproduce.
Due to the importance of these waters as breeding and feeding grounds we at differing times of the year, encounter such species as Humpback Whales, Sperm Whales, Pygmy Whales, Melon-headed, False Killer, rouge Orcas and rare Beaked Whales.
The above-surface antics of whales include spy hops, tail slaps and incredible breaches when the magnificent mammal hauls its massive girth out of the water in a spectacular vertical display.
Knowledge and real experience really can make the difference in your whale watching adventure! See How to Choose a Whale Watching Tour
We recommend the marine biologist led, and eco-friendly Wild Side Specialty Tours for a morning whale watching cruise (dolphins and turtles included!), or a late afternoon sunset / whale watch cruise.
